Three credential levels
Certification matched to your professional background
IQCB certifies practitioners at three levels, from technicians entering the field to licensed healthcare professionals with advanced degrees. Each credential is earned through examination, not participation.
QEEG-DL
Diplomate Licensed
For licensed healthcare professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, licensed counselors and neurologists, holding a Master’s degree or higher. Recognizes both qEEG competency and active professional licensure.
QEEG-D
Diplomate
For practitioners and researchers holding a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field. The field’s standard credential for advanced quantitative EEG competency, covering all nine domains of the Blueprint of Knowledge.
QEEG-T
Technologist
For EEG technicians and those entering the field. Certifies foundational competency in acquisition, artifact identification, and basic qEEG methodology. Technologists practice under Diplomate supervision.
Certification pathway
Five steps to your Diplomate credential
The pathway builds genuine competency. Supervised clinical experience and mentorship requirements reflect what the field actually demands.

Complete approved training
40-hour IQCB-approved didactic course covering all nine domains.
Gain clinical experience
A minimum of one year under a certified Diplomate is strongly recommended.

Our founding purpose
Quality assurance is the point
Quantitative EEG was developed in university research settings: rigorous, supervised, demanding of methodological precision. As the field has grown, so has the need for a credentialing standard that travels with the practitioner.
We cannot give you decades of laboratory experience. We can certify that your foundational training meets the standard the field requires.
“Quality assurance is a longitudinal, continuous process. Our education and certification goals guide this process, leading to certified clinicians who produce the best quality EEG data and clinically valid results.”

Scholarly recognition
IQCB Research Awards at ISNR
IQCB offers two annual $1,000 awards at the ISNR Annual Conference: one for outstanding research utilizing qEEG, and one for its best clinical application. Both reflect our commitment to advancing the science alongside credentialing its practitioners.
