About IQCB
The International QEEG Certification Board is an independent, nonprofit organization established in 1995 to set and maintain a credentialing standard for quantitative EEG practice.
Who we are
An independent credentialing body
IQCB is an autonomous nonprofit corporation. We are not affiliated with any equipment manufacturer, software company, training provider, or clinical organization. Our sole function is to evaluate candidates against an objective standard and certify those who meet it.
This independence is foundational. A certification administered by an organization with a financial stake in who receives it is a different credential from one administered by an independent board with no interest beyond the integrity of the standard. The IQCB governance structure is designed to prevent conflicts of interest at every level.
The organization is governed by a board of directors composed of credentialed qEEG practitioners, researchers, and professionals with relevant expertise. Board members serve fixed terms and are subject to conflict-of-interest policies.

Mission
To promote quality assurance in the field of quantitative EEG by establishing and maintaining a credentialing standard that verifies foundational competency through independent examination.
Vision
A field in which practitioners, patients, researchers, and legal professionals can rely on IQCB certification as a meaningful, independently verified indicator of qEEG competency.
The case for certification
Quality assurance in a growing field
Quantitative EEG was developed in university research settings: rigorous, supervised, demanding of methodological precision. As the field has grown and clinical application has expanded, so has the distance between how the methodology was developed and how it is sometimes practiced.
We cannot give you decades of laboratory experience. We can certify that a practitioner’s foundational training meets the standard the field requires, and that they have demonstrated the knowledge required to practice responsibly. That is what IQCB certification means, and it is the only thing it means.
Governance
Board of directors
IQCB is governed by an independent board of directors composed of certified qEEG practitioners, researchers, and clinical professionals. Board members serve rotating terms and are selected for their expertise and commitment to the integrity of the field.
